The Hong Kong Youth Chinese Orchestra (HKYCO) will present its annual concert “The Prosperous Times”, with guest performance by the Hong Kong Young Chinese Orchestra, under the baton of Music Office Instructor Bosco Kwok Kin-ming and Guest Conductor Rupert Woo Pak-tuen. The concert programme includes the lively 3rd movement "A Happy Gathering" from Suite Impressions of Hainan that will evoke tropical charm, Dizi Principal of the HKYCO, Luk Tsun-ki will be the soloist of the majestic dizi concerto The Song of Flight, followed by the joyful Lantern Festival and exuberant Eager to Fly. The two orchestras will join forces to present The Sisters' Islands, a piece inspired by mythological legend, and the concert will culminate in the world premiere of Xu Xinchi's Symphony No. 1 "The Prosperous Times", commissioned by the Music Office, leading the audience on a journey through the resplendent beauty of Chinese culture.
